Feathers by Danusia

I have been a feather artisan for over 50 years. My heritage is Polish. I used to stare at this beautiful box my parents brought over from Poland when they immigrated. It is a mosaic of straw cut into symmetrical shapes. I think that is my inspiration.

I started out as a street artist in San Francisco in the early 70s. I gradually traveled all over the country selling my wears at pretty prestigious art festivals. New Orleans Jazz Fest, ACE shows, Sausalito, Lincoln Center, Mill Valley, and the Folklife Festival, and then I found a market that changed me, that changed the way I perceived my work. That festival is Oregon Country Fair.

I have been here for over 30 years. Now, it is the only show that I do. As I get older, travel gets harder, and I can work all year long towards one event. My work is lighthearted and it fulfills me. Come see me and my wonderful crew this year.
